What potassium alum is

Potassium alum a naturally occurring mineral salt, used for centuries as a personal-care ingredient. In cosmetic use, potassium alum lowers skin pH slightly, which makes the underarm environment less hospitable to the ordinary skin bacteria that break down sweat into the compounds we notice as odor.

What it is not Potassium alum is not aluminum chlorohydrate or aluminum zirconium. Those are the aluminum-based antiperspirant actives regulated by the FDA under 21 CFR Part 350, and they work by physically blocking sweat glands.

How it is used

Apply to clean, dry skin. Best on damp underarms straight out of the shower, so a light film of the mineral solution stays behind as the skin dries. Reapply as needed. Underarms, feet, inside shoes, or as a light all-over body spray. It is unscented, so it layers under any perfume or cologne.

How do I get the free bottle

You do not have to do anything, and there is no minimum. Order any size and we add a bottle of Comfort Maxum to the box. One per customer. If you order by phone, just mention the new customer offer.

What is the free bottle

Comfort Maxum, a proprietary 115 mg blend of peptidase from Aspergillus melleus and N-Acetyl Cysteine, 60 vegan capsules, a $39.50 value. It is one of the most reordered products in the Longevity Formulas line. It carries a blood thinning caution, printed in full at the bottom of this page.

What about shipping

U.S. shipping is free on this order. The offer link applies it at checkout before you pay. A few larger liquid products carry a small per bottle postage from the second bottle onward because of their weight, and that applies on free shipping orders too.

I am switching off an antiperspirant

Skin that has been under aluminum-based antiperspirants for years often needs two to four weeks to settle into a new routine. Give it that window before deciding whether the switch is working for you.
